We are pleased to announce the release of the new vintages of our most popular wines. We have also been busy in the winery with the 2022 vintage being bottled a couple weeks ago, except for a couple wine that are set for some additional barrel time. It was our biggest bottling so far. With our new winemaker, Patrick, at the helm we believe that the wine is set to be some of the best we have produced.
The good news is that 2022 Chardonnay and ever popular Skipping Rabbit Pinot Noir have been bottled. They have both undergone rigorous taste testing by Andrew and I to determine if they were ready for release. We are happy to declare that they are both drinking very well. Tasting notes can be found in Our Wines section of the website.
The gold medal winning 2020 Heathcote Shiraz was sold out over the festive season so has been replaced with the 2021 Heathcote Shiraz. The 2021 version was awarded gold medal status at the Victorian Wine Show and is a very worthy successor.
We are pleased to release our flagship 2021 Pinot Noir Reserve. This wine has benefited from the improvements we have made in both the vineyard and the winery. It is a true reflection of our unique site in the Macedon Ranges and has been chosen as one of the wines to represent the Macedon region at the upcoming Pinot Noir Celebration being held on the Mornington Peninsular.
In the vineyard, we have had a good start to 2023 with the vines going smoothly through flowering and fruit set and responding well to the warmer weather we are (finally) experiencing. We remain hopeful for a strong vintage.
