It is wine judging season and we are thrilled with the results from the first wine produced by our new wine making team using our new facilities.
Our Heathcote Shiraz 2020 was awarded 97 points and a gold medal by Winestate magazine. (Keep a look out for the September October Shiraz Challenge edition). This was our first vintage. We were fortunate to be able to rely on the experience of winemaker Luke Boucher along with the input of our now resident winemaker Patrick Wood to make this exceptional wine.
Jane Faulkner of Halliday’s Wine Companion wrote;
‘A fantastic red-noir hue immediately entices and the pleasure doesn’t stop there. An exuberant wine with a whorl of dark fruits mingling with licorice, oak spices, warm earth, pencil shavings (remember those?) and a distinctive regional gum leaf/menthol note. Full bodied and rich across the palate with plump yet textural tannins.’
In addition, from the 2021 vintage, our customer favorite, Skipping Rabbit Pinot Noir and the new addition to our range, our Cabernet Shiraz were both awarded Silver Medals at the Royal Sydney Wine Show.
All of the wine above is available via our online cellar door, but be quick because stock is limited.
