We are excited to announce the release of the latest vintage of two of our most popular wines.
After careful cellaring, the latest release of our methode traditionale Sparkling Shiraz is now available. It remains true to its lineage as a full flavoured, not too sweet, not too dry, not too heavy, not too light wine to be enjoyed around a cosy fire in winter or chilled out on our café deck in summer.
The 2022 Cabernet Shiraz is also now available. As with its predecessor, it has been created to be a great accompaniment for food, particularly pizza, pasta or paella. It is 60% Macedon Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Heathcote shiraz. The Macedon Cabernet brings lightness, finesse, great natural acidity and soft tannins that when combined with the fruitfulness of the Heathcote Shiraz delivers a satisfying but not overbearing wine to accompany a great range of southern European style foods. Our 2023 Vintage has drawn to a close with the pressing of our 2023 Macedon Cabernet Sauvignon last Friday. While the 2022-2023 vintage was challenged by some extremes in weather, the unique terroir of our Kyneton Ridge vineyard resulted in accelerated late season sunshine inspired ripening from a very slow start, allowing for harvest at the same time as last year. We saw good yields and lifted fruit quality. We are excited about the potential of the 2023 wines.
